Which credit package should I choose, or when should I upgrade?

Deciding which credit package to choose or when to upgrade to the next credit package tier depends on your specific usage patterns and campaign needs.

The average text message database growth per month varies, but a common benchmark is 10% to 20%. Actual growth rates depend on factors such as industry, marketing effectiveness, and customer engagement. It's essential for businesses to monitor their specific metrics and adapt strategies accordingly for sustained growth.

Here are some considerations to help you determine how to choose the right package:

  1. How many subscribers do you have?
  2. How many campaigns will you send per month?
  3. What type of campaigns will you send? Will you send primarily SMS, MMS, or a mix?

Depending on your answers, you can start to calculate how many credits you may need and which credit package you fall into.

💡 Reminders:

What counts as a credit?

Any message that is sent from or received by your Toll-Free Number or Short Code counts as a credit and will be deducted from your credit balance, with the following exceptions:

  • Any messages that are part of a “STOP” flow
  • Any messages that are rejected by the aggregator

Here are some considerations to help you determine when it's time to move to the next credit package tier:

  1. Exceeding Monthly Credits: If you consistently find yourself running out of credits before the end of your contractual month, impacting your ability to send campaigns, it's advisable to choose a credit package or upgrade to ensure an adequate balance. This proactive approach not only meets your immediate messaging requirements but also saves you money.

  2. Campaign Scaling: Evaluate your marketing strategies. If you plan on scaling up your campaigns or targeting a larger audience, opting for a higher credit package allows you to access more credits per month. This ensures you have the necessary resources to accommodate increased messaging volumes as your campaigns expand.

  3. Cost Efficiency: Assess the cost efficiency of your current credit package. If you frequently purchase additional credits, upgrading to a higher tier may offer a better rate per credit, potentially saving you money in the long run. Consider your budget and messaging needs when making this decision.

  4. Long-Term Planning: Consider your long-term messaging needs and plan accordingly. If you anticipate sustained or increased usage over the coming months, choosing a higher credit package provides a proactive approach to ensure continuity in your campaigns and prevents interruptions.

  5. Special Promotions or Events: If you have upcoming special promotions, events, or marketing campaigns that require a higher volume of messages, selecting a credit package that aligns with these needs is crucial. This ensures you have the necessary credits to execute impactful campaigns without disruptions during important occasions.

  6. Reviewing Analytics: Regularly review your campaign analytics to understand your messaging trends. Notice a consistent upward trend in message usage. It may be a good time to choose a credit package that offers a higher monthly allocation or consider upgrading to meet the growing demand.
